Who we are
Phoenix Healing Community is a newly established Community Interest Company currently led by three directors. Alongside our directors, the project is supported and strengthened by a network of supportive people who continue to offer invaluable advice and guidance. A special thanks to Sarah and Julia.
Meet Sue

Hello, and thank you for your interest in our healing project. I’m Sue, the founder of Phoenix Healing Community.
My passion for this project stems from a lifelong interest in healing, combined with a deep commitment to social justice, equality, and recognition of the need for cultural change. It is also deeply informed by my own experiences of trauma, poverty, domestic abuse, and addiction and by my own ongoing healing journey that continues to guide my path.
Through personal experience, I understand the material barriers that can prevent people from accessing the support they need and I’m committed to doing what I can to make support more accessible for others.
My healing work is community-centred, drawing on the traditions of shamanic healing and herbalism. I’m especially passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate the path of trauma recovery, helping people to rediscover their deep connection to self and offering support on their journey toward personal empowerment.
Meet Sam
Hello, my name is Samantha Button.
I have a strong background in holistic therapies, including massage, reflexology, and Reiki, I am dedicated to using these skills to support the well-being of people in need.
I help people to manage stress, with a particular focus on supporting individuals dealing with conditions such as PTSD, depression, and all forms of trauma. Healing has been my life’s passion, especially after discovering the transformative power it had in helping me move through my own past traumas. My journey through different types of trauma has shaped my deep commitment to personal healing and has inspired me to guide others on their path to wellness.
At the heart of my practice is a belief in safe, compassionate, and empowering healing for every individual I work with.

Meet Heather

My name is Heather and it is a real pleasure to be involved in The Phoenix Healing Community.
My background includes working within the voluntary sector as CEO for a Charity offering support to carers. I then worked for many years in a number of roles as a social worker both in hospitals and the community.
This involved coming into contact with people who had to confront very difficult situations due to illness, disability and disadvantage. I have also been part of a team safeguarding adults from harm and investigating abuse as part of the Local Authorities Safeguarding Procedures.
Through this work I became very aware that often accessing affordable support was difficult for many and needs were not being met. The Phoenix Healing Community is a positive initiative offering accessible help aiming to empower people in need to move forward with their lives. I am very committed to supporting this initiative as I have long felt something like this is needed.
What we do
We are starting small and growing steadily. Currently, we offer monthly shamanic healing sessions through charities, including the Julian House homeless hostel in Bath. We also work in partnership with The Haven, a grassroots community land project in Bristol run by and for people with lived experience of addiction, mental health challenges, and social isolation.
In partnership with The Haven, we are preparing to expand our service to include weekly day-long healing sessions, twice-monthly group healing circles, and regular nature-connection practices.

Our Consultation Sessions

All of our Consultation Sessions happen in a welcoming and safe environment, allowing you to feel relaxed and at ease.
Where we want to be
We’re looking to establish our own premises with access to outdoor nature space, so we can open our services to the public.
Our long term vision is to inspire others to create more community healing services, enabling us to build a network of projects across the country. By working together as a unified healing community, we aim to bring healing to as many people in financial difficulty as possible whilst becoming a powerful force for change.
